CHRISTINE ALLISON

MUSICAL DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER

Christine Allison has been directing bells for over 35 years. She started with youth, then adults and later formed a chime choir for younger ringers. She was awarded a scholarship and studied with American Guild of English Handbell Ringers. She later became a clinician for handbell workshops and a consultant to church bell choirs. Christine returned to Mount Union College, from which she received her Bachelors degree, to teach handbell class/choir and has directed an auditioned community bell choir since 2008. She is a member of Handbell Musicians of America.

After one community bell choir ended, Christine wanted an outlet for those left "stranded" from ringing more advanced music. She asked her Board of Directors of A Chorus for a Cause if they thought it was possible to bring those ringers over and start our own community handbell choir. Needless to say, it was approved and Harmony Ringers was born and is now the premier auditioned community handbell choir of Stark County, OH.
